Firstly, everyone at Leycester House hopes that you and your loved ones are safe and well. 2020 so far has been far from what many of us are used to and we know how unexpected change can affect everyone but in particular the vulnerable.
From our last post in May we have been working hard to ensure that our residents here have felt safe and enjoyed as much communication as possible with loved ones. Our wonderful team have put on entertainment and run activities, our chefs have continued to produce wonderful food day-in and day-out. All in all, we have gone to every effort to make sure that people are able to enjoy life as they had before. As always, we have kept our Facebook page up-to-date with the fun and goings-on from within the home – you can take a look and follow us here.
Our carers have even been learning about how to take better videos and photos so that friends and family outside the home can share in what we’ve been up to! There are plenty of these on our Facebook page so that you to see what we're getting up to.
Earlier this month we were lucky enough to get together with our sister homes in the Berkley Care Group for a quiz on Zoom, which was a new, brilliant experience for all of us and I’m sure it won’t be the last. As you may have seen over the last few months, the media coverage of our sector hasn’t always been the most positive, so we have created a short film about what our home means to the residents and staff, and to highlight the amazing work going on each day to ensure that the new normal is as comfortable as possible. You can watch the video here and also discover the finer detail on our stringent eight-point plan to ensure our residents’ safety and well-being. There’s also a sneak-peek at our fabulous new care lodge which arrives soon – a state of the art visiting room to enable residents and loved ones to re-connect in comfort and safety.
